“What we have in the US is a system of discrimination that’s extremely complex and very much shaped by our history,” she said.
“But I think we also have to recognise the history of Asian Americans in this country.”
“I think we have to accept that we have a long way to go.”
As for the next steps for the campaign, Ms Cesarini said they were already looking at ways to reach more people in their communities.
“I think it’s important for us to keep pushing forward and to keep building on our efforts to reach the people that we need to reach,” she added.
“I don’t think there’s any reason why we can’t continue to do that.”
