Posted October 13, 2018 09:00:22The USS Missouri, the U.S. Navy’s newest carrier-based aircraft carrier, will make its first deployment on Oct. 14.
The USS Missouri will be the Navy’s second carrier-powered aircraft carrier and the first to deploy an aircraft carrier-equipped aircraft carrier.
The new aircraft carrier is expected to arrive in the Gulf of Mexico later this year.
The ship will serve as a major logistics hub for U.M.
S Stennis in the Persian Gulf, and to assist in the operation of the Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Campbell, both in Louisiana.
The carrier will also provide support to U.N. peacekeeping operations in Somalia, the Middle East, and Africa.
